My Mini Transat.
And how a big dream came true!
A dream was born.“It was 2013 when I first heard of the Mini Transat. In fact, those little Mini 650’s were just flying by the Canaries and I could see those tiny colourful dots on the horizon. I guess this was the moment when I started having dreams. Since then, the idea of racing solo across the Atlantic Ocean, and even around the world, was stuck in my mind. There was no way I was not going to do it. Now, more than 10 years later, I can proudly say that I raced across the Atlantic Ocean in the Mini Transat 2023 and I am so ready for more!”
Can I really do this?
Hell yes!
Having doubts in big projects like this is totally normal and makes you push harder. The big step for me was to tell friends and family about my dream. And to be honest, I was really surprised that I was taken 100% seriously, nobody doubted that I could do it.
This was a big motivation for me and a big boost for my self confidence and I just started getting closer to achieving my dream step by step. In 2019 I stepped onboard a Mini 650 for the first time in my life and what a feeling this was! This was the start of everything - and 2,5 years later I picked up my own Mini in Lorient!
What followed then was 2 very intense years of preparation and qualification, spending most of the time in France, training in La Rochelle with the Centre Excellence Voile and facing all the challenges that came along. It was the best time of my life so far!
